Muskie skiers dazzle at OFSAA

The Muskie Nordic ski team steadily improved throughout the season—and just may have saved their best for last.

The four-member contingent that qualified all put in great performances at the OFSAA championships held Thursday and Friday in Duntroon.

Emma Toriseva, Kayli Machura, Tori Toriseva, and Joseph Dueck all finished within the top 100 in their respective races.

Muskie spikers nab win

The Muskie senior girls' volleyball team rebounded in a big way this morning at the all-Ontarios in Ahmerstburg.

The black-and-gold opened Pool 'A' play yesterday morning with a pair of straight-sets losses to host General Amherst (5-25/15/25) and Corpus Christi (16-25/8-25).

Muskie skiers shine

Members of the Muskie Nordic ski team had their talents on full display at the OFSAA championships held Thursday and Friday in Duntroon.

Leading the way was Emma Toriseva, who nabbed a 12th-place finish out of 129 competitors in the high school junior girls' 3.5-km division with a time of 14:58.31.

It also was the best-ever individual finish for Fort High at the all-Ontarios.

Muskie boys ousted in OT

Ben Lavoie scored with 5:05 left in overtime to lift the Sioux Lookout Warriors to a 3-2 win over the Muskie boys' hockey team in the third-and-deciding game of their NorWOSSA final yesterday afternoon at the Ice For Kids Arena.

The Warriors now advance to OFSAA for the second-straight year, which is slated for March 19-21 in Kincardine.

Muskie girls get swept by Eagles

They battled all season but a berth to the all-Ontarios just wasn't in the cards for the Muskie girls' hockey team.

Lauryn Loyer scored twice to pace the Dryden Eagles to a convincing 5-1 win in Game 2 of their NorWOSSA final Thursday night at the Ice For Kids Arena.

The Eagles swept the series and now advance to OFSAA, which is slated for March 18-21 in Midland.

Muskie boys win opener

Connor Nelson netted the eventual game-winner early in the second period last night as the Muskie boys' hockey team earned a 3-1 win over the Sioux Lookout Warriors in the opener of their best-of-three NorWOSSA final at the Ice For Kids Arena.
