Jodoin lifts CJ to win over Centra

Category:

Ian Jodoin was a one-man wrecking crew for CJ Contracting on Monday night.

Jodoin tallied twice to lift CJ to a 2-1 win over Centra Pipelines in Borderland Soccer League men's division action at the St. Francis Sports Field.

Knotted at 1-1 in the second half, Jodoin blasted a laser from distance past Centra keeper Gavin Richardson to put home the winner.

Lucas Koomans notched the lone goal for Centra (6-2-1) while Jacob Albright nabbed the win in net for CJ, who improved to 2-3-2.

Last Wednesday night (July 10), Manitou Forest Products used a two-goal second half to nab a narrow 3-2 win over Centra for their first win of the season.

Jace Dittaro and Koomans both tallied while Kyle Herr responded for Manitou (1-4-1) as Centra took a 2-1 lead into halftime.

But Cole Magill and Marlon Douglas both found the back of the net in the second half to lift Manitou to victory.

Mark Faragher nabbed the win in goal while Tyler Hamm was tagged with the loss for Centra.

Back on July 4, Centra rolled to a 2-0 shutout of CJ.

Darian Klem and Cam Gobeil both tallied in the first half while Richardson earned the shutout in goal.

Albright was tagged with the loss for CJ.

And back on July 3, CJ used a three-goal first half to nab a 3-2 win over Manitou.

Kevin Metke, Chase McGuire, and Sully Shortreed all tallied in the first half to stake CJ to a commanding 3-0 lead.

Nick Hahkala and Chris Sinclair both found the back of the net for Manitou in the second half to trim it to 3-2, but that's as close as they would get.

Albright was solid between the pipes to nab the win for CJ while Mike Sande and Faragher split keeper duties in a losing cause for Manitou.

The CJ versus Manitou game that was scheduled for last Monday (July 8) was postponed due to CJ not being able to field enough players.

The league will try to reschedule it for later in the season but will go down as a forfeit for CJ if it cannot find a day that works.

Tonight's game will see Centra taking on Manitou at 7 p.m. (weather permitting).

In women's division action last Tuesday night, meanwhile, La Place Rendez-Vous was awarded a default win over Al's Racquet Stringing.

Back on July 2, the Vous (5-1) rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 4-0 shutout of Al's (1-5).

Jaida Norris, Nicole Rogozinski, Jennie Dyck, and Alyssa Faragher all bulged the twine for the Vous.

Hailey Beaudry garnered the win in goal over Andrea Bell-Perreault.

The two squads were slated to square off once again last night, with the outcome not known as of press time.
