Hockey games nixed

Poor road conditions have put both the Fort Frances Lakers and Muskie boys' hockey team on ice.

The Lakers were scheduled to play the English River Miners tonight in Red Lake, with a make-up game still to be determined.

The Lakers (6-14-1-1) are next in action this Friday when they host the first game of a home-and-home series with the SIJHL-leading Thief River Falls Norskies (22-1-0-0) at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena.

Thief River Falls then will host the Lakers on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The Muskies, meanwhile, were slated to be in Dryden tonight for a NorWOSSA showdown against the Eagles, with a make-up date also still to be determined.

The team returns to action Thursday when it heads to Brandon, Man. for a weekend tournament.
