Al's, Rendez-Vous battle to first draw of season

The Borderland Soccer League women's division saw its first draw of the season on Tuesday night.

Neither Al's Racquet Stringing nor La Place Rendez-Vous could get the better of each other as the game ended with a 3-3 score.

Ryndi Veldhuisen scored twice while Courtney Buckshot also bulged the twine for Al's (1-5-1).

Rochelle Douglas, Chloe Kliner, and Claire Hyatt all tallied for the Vous (5-1-1).

Phyllis Pierson stood tall in net for Al's.

Gwen Macdonald manned the pipes for the Vous in the first half while Hyatt and Jennie Dyck shared keeper duties in the second half.

The two squads will meet once again on Tuesday night (July 23) at 7 p.m. (weather permitting).

In men's division action last night, meanwhile, inclement weather forced the game between Centra Pipelines (6-2-1) and Manitou Forest Products (1-4-1) to be postponed.

The league will reschedule it for later in the season.

Men's division action will resume on Monday when Manitou squares off against CJ Contracting (2-3-2) at 7 p.m. (weather permitting).
