A vendors' market meant for young entrepreneurs to get some experience—and make a few bucks—is slated for next Thursday (March 15).
The “Mini-Market” will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. downstairs at Curvy Chick (256 Scott St.)
“It's just to give them something to do during the March Break and help promote their little businesses,” said Jennifer Horton, who is among the parents involved in organizing the vendors' market along with Charmaine Langlais.
She said she was looking to give her son, David, something to do during the March Break and shared her idea with Langlais, who loved it and wanted to get her daughters involved.
From there, more parents got on board with their children.
A total of 10 young vendors have signed up so far but there's room for more, noted Horton.
“The more that we get down there, the better," she remarked. "We'll fit them all in.”
To sign up, call Horton at 270-6859 or contact her or Langlais via Facebook.
There's no cost to register.
Horton said some of the products the kids will be selling include baked goods, dog treats, and flavoured popcorn.
Of course, a market isn't a market without customers, so shoppers of all ages are urged to drop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. next Thursday.
Horton pointed out the timing of the event makes it perfect for people to stop by during their lunch breaks.
