The “Maker Space” at the Fort Frances Public Library has a new addition: ukuleles.
Ukuleles have been purchased and are ready to go for our first-ever “Music Lessons in the Library” series.
A five-week program is starting this Wednesday (Feb. 6) for kids aged nine-12, with a community member teaching the group.
Online registration is required as space is limited.
When the ukuleles are not being used for programs, they will be available to borrow with a library card.
In a “Maker Space,” the learning happens through making, tinkering, art, and engineering real things based on an individual's interest.
Making music is the perfect fit for the space at the Fort Frances Public Library.
The library already has guitars and a piano that are used in-house daily by folks stopping in and playing.
This program is made possible through a sponsorship of Saulteaux Consulting.
