Volunteers sought for Christmas Kettle Campaign

Category:

As the snow begins to fall and the days get shorter, the Salvation Army has begun looking for volunteers to assist in its 2019 Christmas Kettle Campaign.

The Salvation Army has run its campaign every year since 1891, and each year more than 25,000 bell ringers take part in the campaign to help the organization raise money for those in need in their local communities.

All of the money raised through the campaign stays in the community and is used to fortify the Salvation Army's efforts in reaching those who are in need of assistance.

Volunteer bell ringers are asked to provide a minimum two hours of their time should they decide to take part in the Christmas Kettle Campaign, which officially kicks off on Friday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at Walmart.

Fort Frances Mayor June Caul will be on hand to open this year's campaign.

Anyone who is interested and willing to volunteer their time to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army's 2019 Christmas Kettle Campaign is asked to contact Corps Officer Arthur Heathcote at 274-3871 or to send an email to fortbellringer@can.salvationarmy.org
