“Tour de Fort” presents Calum Graham and Don Ross today (Feb. 7) at 7:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre (doors open at 7 p.m.) The event is open to passport-holders but a limited number of tickets will be available at the theatre box office for $35 each.

St. John's Anglican Church will host a Valentine luncheon, featuring assorted soups, sandwiches, and dainties, on Friday, Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. There also will be a bake table. Admission is $8 for adults and everyone is welcome.

The Muskie girls' hockey team will host the Sioux North Warriors (Sioux Lookout) in NorWOSSA action on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for youth aged 13-18, with those 12 and under being free.

The Rainy River District Trappers Council will hold a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Métis Hall (714 Armit Ave.) Admission is free and everyone is welcome, with lunch available.

The Muskie boys' hockey team will host its annual tea and bake sale on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Fort Frances High School cafeteria. There also will be a penny table, door prize, and photo booth. Admission is $5.

Town council will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 11 at the Civic Centre. It will follow the committee of the whole meeting, which gets underway at 5:30 p.m.

An open house to mark the new location of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care's office (now in the main lobby of La Verendrye Hospital) will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. One and all are invited to drop by to enjoy refreshments, meet with Foundation board members, and learn more about the Foundation's role.

Local writer Judith Johanson will hold a reading of her first collection of poetry, entitled “Intersections,” on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library. Copies of the book also will be for sale for $20 each.

A tea to celebrate the opening of the new “Fibre Content" exhibit at the Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 1-3 p.m. Also come and see the local "Fibre Arts Festival" entries in the upstairs gallery and vote for the "People's Choice” award.

Borderland Pride will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Shaw Room at the Fort Frances Public Library to review last year's “Pride Week” festivities and get input on this year's roster of events. All are welcome to attend.

The Muskie boys' hockey team will host the Dryden Eagles in their NorWOSSA regular-season finale on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at “The Duke” (Couchiching Arena). Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for students, with those under 12 being free.

The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Thunder Bay North Stars in SIJHL action on Friday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 for kids 12 and under, with those under five being free.

Kids & Company presents “Bam Percussion” on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre. Tickets cost $10.50 in advance (available online at www.kidsandco.ca) and $12 at the door, with children three and under being free. The entry deadline for the 2019 Rainy River District Festival for the Performing Arts is Friday, Feb. 22. Entry forms can be found on the “Forms, Fees and Resources” page of their website (ff-festival.com) and at the back of the syllabus. The updated syllabus also has been posted on the site.

The Rainy River Christian Farmers Association will hold its annual meeting and policy tour on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 7-9 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo. R.S.V.P. to either Arnold Kaemingh (486-3491), Wade Desserre (483-5412), Arnold Henzmann (482-9985), David Peters (852-1726), or Delton Martin (271-2998).

“SnOasis 7: Snowflake Heaven" is slated to be held Saturday, March 2 from noon-2 p.m. at the Rainy Lake Square. Come on by for children's games, hot chocolate, "auger" dogs, and more. This is a free family event sponsored by the "Friends of the Museum.”

“Fibre Content,” a travelling exhibit featuring award-winning artwork created from textiles, will be in the main floor gallery of the Fort Frances Museum beginning Feb. 1 and running through March.

Bingo at the Fort Frances Seniors' Centre (Sister Kennedy Centre) has resumed on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Everyone aged 55+ welcome!

The Craft Club for Kids runs every Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Fort Frances Public Library. Create something fun to take home. Children must be accompanied by an adult for this free activity.
