Riverside Health Care will hold its next open board meeting today (Feb. 28) at 6 p.m. in the boardroom at La Verendrye General Hospital.

The Muskie girls' hockey team will host the Dryden Eagles in Game 2 of their best-of-three NorWOSSA final today (Feb. 28) at 7:15 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for kids aged 13-18, with those 12 and under being free (season passes accepted).

The annual “World Day of Prayer" will be held Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching. A candlelight ski will be held Friday, March 1 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre located off Highway 11 between Barwick and Stratton. The Fort Frances Lakers will host the Thief River Falls Norskies in SIJHL action on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students, $5 for kids 12 and under, and free for those under five.

“SnOasis 7: Snowflake Heaven" is slated to be held Saturday, March 2 from noon-2 p.m. at the Rainy Lake Square. Come on by for children's games, hot chocolate, "auger" dogs, and more. This is a free family event sponsored by the "Friends of the Museum.”

The Fort Frances Public Library will host weekly “Dungeons & Dragons” sessions for ages 13+ starting on Sunday, March 3 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Drop-ins welcome.

A special meeting of the committee of the whole of council—regarding the 2019 budget deliberations—will be held Monday, March 4 at 1 p.m. in the Committee Room downstairs at the Civic Centre.

A “Shrove Tuesday” pancake supper will be held Tuesday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, with admission being a donation to its outreach projects. Everyone welcome!

“Ag Day 2019,” hosted by the Rainy River Federation of Agriculture, will be held Saturday, April 6 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Chapple rec centre in Barwick. The Lions Legacy Golf Tournament, presented by the Fort Frances Lions Club and the Fort Frances Voyageurs Lions Club, will be held on Saturday, June 22 starting at 10 a.m. at the Heron Landing (Couchiching). The cost is $100 each or $400/team, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, and supper. Entries limited to the first 36 paid teams, with the registration deadline being June 6. “Fibre Content,” a travelling exhibit featuring award-winning artwork created from textiles, will be in the main floor gallery of the Fort Frances Museum beginning Feb. 1 and running through March.
