It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Isabel Hildebrand (nee Strain) on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.
She was born Aug. 24, 1936.
Left to mourn is her husband of 49 years, Morgan; and sons, Lance (Laura), Todd (Camilla), and Jeff (Suki). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Sam and Asia.

Bernice Mary Hyatt, 83, of 923 Sixth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born July 26, 1925 in White Fox, Sask. to the late Walter and Dorothy Atkinson.
Bernice spent her early years in Saskatchewan growing up. On June 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Wilbur James Hyatt.
Bernice worked as a park assistant at Quetico Provincial Park for 19 years.

Ed is survived by Roberta (Melvin) Brannan, Linda Jeffrey, April (Dave) Saunders, and Sandra (Neil) Businius; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Smith; and sisters, Annabelle and Irene.
Ed was predeceased by his wife, Edith; brother, Floyd; and parents, Charles and Annie Jeffrey.

Ethel May Gustafson, 92, of Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008.
Ethel was born July 30, 1916 in Port Arthur, Ont. She moved to Fort Frances as a very young child.
Many people were fortunate to have enjoyed Ethel’s cooking. She worked as a cook in various camps and restaurants in the area, including Atikokan, Minaki, and Fort Frances. She also had worked as a cleaning lady for the board of education, area banks, and a few homes in town.

Beatrice Marie “Bea” Olinyk, 91, of 102 First St., Rainy River, Ont., passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River.
She was born June 6, 1917 in Spohn Township, Ont. to the late James and Mabel Hawthorne.
Bea spent her early years growing up at home in Spohn Township. She later met and married Michael Olinyk on May 1, 1947.

Margaret (Meta) Helen McMillan, 86, of Atikokan, On., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at the Extended Care Wing of the Atikokan General Hospital.
Meta was born in Craigmonie Culrain Kincardine, Scotland to William and Margaret MacKenzie on Jan. 31, 1922.
Meta married Peter George McMillan on March 16, 1944 in Scotland. Meta then came to Canada on Feb. 23, 1946 on a hospital ship called the “Letitia.” It was an 11-day crossing to Halifax, N.S., where she continued by train to Winnipeg, Man. to meet Peter.
JOHN FREDRICK TRENCHARD

With his wife by his side, John Fredrick Trenchard passed away peacefully at his home in Sleeman, Ont. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Rainy River, Ont. Rev. Barbara Miller will officiate, with interment in Blue Cemetery in Blue Township, Ont.

Donna May Wilson, 74, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Donna was born July 12, 1934 in Fort Frances to the late Joseph and Lillian Bone. She was raised on the family dairy farm on River Road in Alberton Township, Ont., where she learned the art of farming, helping her parents and brother with the daily tasks of farm life—whether this meant in the fields, the barn, or in the home.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Barboni on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Loretta was born Jan. 1, 1943 in Stratton Ont.
Loretta will be sadly missed by her sons, Brad (Marlene) and Rick (Mel); stepchildren, Terry Wilson Vanderbrand (Bonnie) and Mary Anne Reimer (Randy); and seven beautiful grandchildren.
William H. “Bill” Jourdain

William H. “Bill” Jourdain passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Sunday evening, Nov. 2, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thunder Bay, Ont.
He was born Sept. 29, 1930.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Sam W. and Maggie (nee Godin) Jourdain; brothers-in-law, Robert Carriveau and Raymond “Duke” Bruyere; and nephew, Jeffrey Bruyere.
